2007-09-12 - Age-related macular degeneration ARMD is associated with a higher risk of myocardial infarction, according to a study at the Penn. State Univ. College of Medicine. Another study found that people with ARMD have a 11% higher risk for hip fractures. Smoking has been attributed to ARMD as a significant risk factor. Our office uses the latest technology in laser scanning tomography to determine macular degeneration.
		2007-08-22 - 90% of children wearing Transition tinted lenses preferred the lenses over clear lenses in a recent study. The major difference was the ability to see better in bright sunlight. Compliance was improved with the lenses so the children wore their glasses better. Peer acceptance with the Transition lenses was significantly higher as well. For parents who have children who will not wear their glasses as prescribed, then adding Transition tinted lenses is a good choice.
